A Look Back In Time- Vale v Derby
Ahead of the Vale`s pre-season test against Derby County tonight, let`s look back at a past encounter between the two sides from January 1990, as the Valiants caused an upset by knocking the Rams out of the FA Cup.

Following a 1-1 draw at Vale Park, Vale sprung an upset against the then First Division side, as Nicky Cross scored a memorable winning goal to give Vale a 3-2 win. The Valiants exited the competition after a 6-0 thumping at the hands of Aston Villa.

The last time the two sides met in a competitive fixture was the 1-1 draw in January 1996.
