Port Vale 2-2 Scunthorpe United
Port Vale fought back from a goal down to be two-one up but eventually had to settle for a point against 10-man Scunthorpe United.
At two-one up with a little over 10-minutes to play, we might have expected to see the game out but had to be content with a 2-2 draw at Vale Park in the end on Tuesday night.
Scunthorpe were quickly ahead with Luke O'Neill leaving Carl Dickinson for dead before picking out Neal Bishop (4) who made no mistake from six-yards to give the visitors and early lead.
It wasn't a deficit we faced for long with Ben Williamson (7) getting to the ball ahead of Scunthorpe' loan 'keeper from Peterborough to head home a Mark Marshall cross to make it one-one.
An amazing goal line clearance from Ryan McGivern made sure that Lyle Taylor didn't restore Scunthorpe's lead before half time before we eventually took a second half lead ourselves.
Chris Birchall came on to replace Louis Dodds at the midway point of the second half and the impact was almost instant. Olejnik wasn't able to deal with an Adam Yates effort sufficiently with Birchall (70) following up to make it two-one.
Victory would have been something we expected when former Vale man Jennison Myrie-Williams was sent off shortly after our second goal for his second bookable offence, but the visitors weren't to be denied.
O'Neill was again the creator with is ball into Taylor who headed home past Chris Neal to make it two-two, with us having Neal to thank for a late save from Taylor to ensure we secured at least a point.
