BBC Report - League 2 Details For 2017

The BBC's Price of Football annual survey was released late last night, and their investigation shows that the price of League Two football has risen on average compared to 2016/17.

Compared to the last survey (2016/17), the BBC found that the average cost in nine areas of pricing had increased this year, whilst only the cheapest matchday tickets and junior shirts had been reduced.

Yeovil Town and Colchester United stand out as the only clubs to have frozen or reduced prices in every category for this season.

The headline news from the study shows that Morecambe's most expensive Season Ticket costs more than, or is equal, to half of the Championship's most expensive Season Tickets whilst Newport County offer the cheapest Season Ticket with a cost of £195.

The cheapest matchday ticket goes to Wycombe Wanderers at £13, with Colchester taking the most expensive single matchday ticket with a cost of £29.

Colchester also has the most expensive away ticket at £29, with Notts County taking the cheapest with a price of £10.

Colchester do however offer fans the cheapest day out (ticket, pie, tea + programme) with a rounded £21.75 as online ticket purchae can be as little as £14.50.

Conversely Colchester also offer the most expensive day out at £36.25.

In terms of a cup of tea and a pie, Coventry charge the most for both with a tea at £2.50 and a pie at £4. The cheapest tea goes to Accrington Stanley, Colchester and Stevenage at £1, with Carlisle having the cheapest pie at £2.

As the data is sifted through, the above link will lead you to club specific information, but as ever, Vital Football will give a club by club breakdown in the coming days.
