Vale Finalise Cuvelier Deal

Florent Cuvelier has officially completed his loan move from Sheffield United to the Vale until the end of the season.

Speculation had been rife over the past few days that the Belgian under 21 International would be joining the Valiants. The midfielder is likely to go straight into the starting line-up for Saturday`s game with Oldham Athletic as Chris Lines serves a suspension.

The former Stoke City man enjoyed a successful spell on loan with Walsall in League One last year and Vale boss Micky Adams is hopeful of him recapturing that level of performance. Speaking to the Official Site Adams commented: "We all saw his ability at Walsall and that`s when he first came on the radar, not necessarily when he played for Stoke Reserves, but certainly at Walsall he had an impact on them.

"He has got good ability and he can handle the ball, but has got to get himself in the side first of all. He is up for the challenge and he wants to do well.

"He has had very little football at Sheffield United so if there is one worry it is that. He might need four or five games to get himself up to full speed.

"We can`t afford four or five games, we need him to hit the ground running if he possibly can, but until he plays we won`t know."
Adams is hopeful of adding additional bodies to his squad, although these are likely to be young players from Premier League sides.
