Dickinson Completes Vale Move

Vale have completed the signing of the former Stoke City left back Carl Dickinson. The 26 year old has agreed a one year deal with the club after being released by Watford earlier today.

Dickinson joined Watford for £250,000 after previously helping Stoke achieve promotion to the Premier League. With the Valiants desperately in need of defensive cover at present, the move looks an astute one by Adams and continues what appears to be some good business this summer.

Whether Vale will continue their interest in trialist Mathias Doumbe is unclear. The centre half impressed in friendlies against both Kidderminster and Leicester over recent days. The centre half position remains a priority, although speaking to the Official Site Adams stated Dickinson`s versatility was a valuable commodity. "Carl has performed at a higher level than League One and that experience will be invaluable for us, especially as he can perform in two positions.'

"I am certain that he can make a positive contribution to the squad and look forward to working with him this season."

Welcome to Vale Park, Carl.
