Adams Seeks Further Additions

After seeing his side lose an entertaining friendly to Championship side Derby County last night, Vale boss Micky Adams has revealed he still needs further additions to his squad ahead of the new season. Vale suffered a 5-3 defeat after being 3-1 up at the interval last night. Tom Pope continued his fine goal scoring form, netting twice, while Chris Robertson scored Vale`s other goal.

Adams told the Official Site "In the first half I was really pleased with us. I thought we were a threat going forward and we had some great deliveries from set pieces which we capitalised on.

"Generally I was pleased with the performance, but as I said, in the second half with the introduction of the substitutes, they really got after us."

"We are still a couple of players short of formulating a squad for League One, but we will continue to work and try our best to get them in the building before the start of the season.

"We are looking at a couple of players in training and we will maybe look at a couple of players at Kidderminster on Friday."
