Griffith Makes Vale Return

Griffith Makes Vale Return

Anthony Griffith has rejoined the Valiants for a third time after signing a one year deal with the club. The midfielder had been deemed surplus to requirements at Leyton Orient, although a move back to the Potteries has been a while in coming.

Griffith joined the club back in 2008 from Doncaster Rovers, going on to make over 150 appearances during his first spell. After Vale entered administration, the Yorkshireman opted for the security of a two year deal with Orient but found first team opportunities limited. A loan move back to Vale towards the back end of last season helped Vale towards promotion and the 26 year old is relishing his return. He told the Official Site "I`m over the moon, I`m just glad something could be done, it was in the process for a long time but these football deals tend to go on forever, which in the back of your mind you`re thinking is it going to happen?"

"I think Vale`s style of play suits me and I understand the management, when I joined it was a great place to grow as a player and turn a boy into a man."

Griffith will go straight into the squad for tonight`s friendly with Derby County. Micky Adams is hopeful of making one more addition to his squad, with a centre half the likely spot that needs strengthening.
