Vale Hit Nine In Friendly Win

The Valiants began their pre-season fixtures with a comprehensive 9-0 win over Norton United. Boss Micky Adams fielded a different side in each half in order to give as many of his squad a run out as possible.

Goals from new boys Kaid Mohamed, Gavin Tomlin and Liam Dickinson (2), as well as a strike from captain Doug Loft put Vale 5 up at the break. Second half efforts from Ben Williamson, Tom Pope, Louis Dodds and Louis Tambini completed the rout.

Vale will continue their preparations for the new season when they face Newcastle Town tomorrow.
