Vale Win Race For Lines

Vale confirmed the signing of midfielder Chris Lines on a one year contract. The 27 year old left Championship side Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the week and will now link up with his former teammate Daniel Jones.

Manager Micky Adams told the Official Site "Chris is a tall, strong central midfielder who has a wealth of experience at this level. He will add something to our squad and I`m looking forward to him joining us.

"He has played in the Championship, in addition to League One and has also experienced promotion. That calibre of player can only be a bonus for the squad."

Lines will join up with the squad ahead of Vale`s pre-season tour to Ireland next week.

Fair few Wednesday fans disappointed to lose Chris and baffled that we apparently didn't try for a fee. He was unlucky to pick up an injury last pre-season and we sure missed his vision, creativity and ability at dead ball situations. Wish him all the best at Port Vale.
