Vale Complete Robertson Deal

Ahead of today`s return to pre-season training, the Valiants have announced the signing of centre back Chris Robertson from Preston North End.

The 26 year old arrives on a two year deal and will provide boss Micky Adams with some much needed experience at this level following the departure of Darren Purse. The former Torquay United player was signed for £60,000 by then Preston boss Graham Westley 18 months ago and although he struggled to keep his place in the side following Westley`s exit last season, appears to have impressed many with his performances and professionalism during his spell in Lancashire.

The Scottish born defender told the Official Site

"I am pleased to arrive at Port Vale it has been quite a quick turnaround, I`m obviously really excited.

"The club is on the up and there is a good atmosphere around the place at the moment with regards to the promotion last year, I am ready to get stuck in."

Welcome to Vale Park Chris.
