Morsy Linked With Chesterfield Move

Morsy Linked With Chesterfield Move

Vale midfielder Sam Morsy remains hopeful of completing a move to League Two side Chesterfield despite the Valiants rejecting the offer of compensation for the 21 year old.

Morsy turned down a new two year deal to stay at the club recently as he seeks more regular first team action. The former Wolverhampton Wanderers youth team player impressed over the first half of the season, though appeared to fall out of favour with manager Micky Adams following his sending off against Rochdale, which earnt him a public rebuke.

As Vale offered Morsy a new contract on improved terms they are entitled to a fee for the midfielder. Morsy`s agent Matt Kleinman told The Sentinel: "Chesterfield want Sam and he'd like to join, but there can be no talks about wages until a compensation package has been sorted.'

"If Vale want too much money, then the deal simply won't happen because Chesterfield obviously have to work within their own budget.

"But I hope something can be sorted out for Sam's sake."

Adams will hopeful of adding some fresh faces to his midfield owing to the inevitable departure of Morsy. The club are still waiting for news as to whether Captain Doug Loft will sign a new deal, while Anthony Griffith`s future remains uncertain with his parent club Leyton Orient following his return on loan to Vale Park last season.
