Jones Extends Vale Stay
Daniel Jones has given the Valiants a boost ahead of their preparations for life in League One by signing a two year contract with the club.
The 26 year old impressed following his January transfer from Sheffield Wednesday, scoring a spectacular goal on debut at AFC Wimbledon and provided Micky Adams with some much needed pace in defence. There had been speculation that the former Wolverhampton Wanderers player would move elsewhere, so the news comes as a huge boost as the Vale boss seeks to build a squad capable of competing at the higher level.
Jones told the Official Site "As soon as the season finish I wanted to get it sorted out, now I can look forward to pre-season.
I didn`t have any other thoughts of going anywhere else to be honest, Micky gave me my chance when he signed me in January and I haven`t looked back since.
I wanted to stay here from when I first kicked a ball here, I have loved working with the manager and the team is quality.
"I have been really enjoying my football."
Hopefully the news will encourage Vale`s remaining out of contract players to commit to fresh deals. Ashley Vincent remains the only player so far to reject a contract and move on.
