Vale Announce Ticketing Initiative

The club have announced their latest ticketing initiative with news that supporters attending the Valiants` final home game of the season against Northampton Town will be able to redeem the price of their ticket against next season`s season ticket. Supporters will need to retain their ticket stub or their season ticket stub from the game.

Chairman Paul Wildes recently stated his wish that the game would break the League Two attendance for the season, which saw over 13,000 at Home Park for the derby between Plymouth Argyle and Exeter City. The move is unlikely to attract the same level of floating support that the 9 offer for Burton Albion did, with many lapsed or non-Vale fans attending as a one off being unlikely to purchase a season ticket, but is more of a nod to reward the loyalty of long-suffering supporters.

However, that is not to detract from some more positive developments from Vale`s new ownership. Taking into account the Easter ticketing offer, the Burton game and now this, Vale fans have seen more ticketing offers in recent weeks then they have in the previous few years.

Quite frankly, if a game of this magnitude can`t attract a large gate, then it is unlikely that those who did attend the Burton game would be long-term supporters and the long-term gain of encouraging supporters to purchase a season ticket for next year can only be a positive move.
