Vale Lose Youth Cup Thriller

Vale`s Youth team suffered an agonising extra time defeat to Everton in the 4th Round of the FA Youth Cup last night. With the prospect of a trip to the Emirates to play Arsenal in Round 5, the Valiants came mighty close to dumping their illustrious visitors out of the competition.

A goal from Ollie Marland put the home side ahead, only for a last minute equaliser from Harry Charsley to send the game into extra time. This started promisingly for the home side as Macauley Davis restored the advantage. However, two further goals from Everton meant that Vale`s hopes of progress were dashed. A serious injury to defender Tom Morris overshadowed events. The game was halted for seven minutes while an ambulance attended to him. We wish Tom a speedy recovery.
