New Signing Expected

Vale look set to strengthen their squad further in a bid for promotion after chairman Paul Wildes announced that terms had been agreed with a new signing.

Tweeting "I am delighted to say we will be announcing another new signing tomorrow" #championshipsigning

It is unclear whether this refers to a player currently with a Championship club, but it could point towards Watford left back and former Stoke City left back Carl Dickinson, who has been linked with the Vale over recent weeks.

Another in the frame could be Leicester City midfielder Richie Wellens, but he effectively ruled himself out of a move to League Two last week.
