Posh Set For Pope Bid?

It is believed that Championship strugglers Peterborough United are lining up a potential bid for Vale striker Tom Pope. The 27 year old has enjoyed a remarkable season thus far, scoring 23 times and becoming the fastest Vale player in history to reach the 20 goal mark. A host of clubs including Leeds United and Millwall have been linked with the Sneyd Green sniper. However, rumours circulating out of Cambridgeshire suggest that Posh manager Darren Ferguson may be set to test the resolve of messrs Smurthwaite and Wildes. Whether Pope, a life-long Vale supporter would be tempted by a move that could see both clubs play in the same division next season remains to be seen. We watch the space with interest.
