Vale Face Non League Test

Vale Face Non League Test

Vale face a potentially tricky tie in the First Round of the FA Cup after being handed a trip either to Dartford or to Forest Green Rovers. Both sides are currently flying high in the Blue Square Conference and meet on Tuesday for a replay following Saturday`s 1-1 draw at The New Lawn. Micky Adams` side met Dartford at the same stage in 2010, when John McCombe`s late equaliser spared Vale`s blushes after being second best for much of the contest. A 4-0 win in the replay ensured that the then Blue Square South side weren`t added to the list of non-league sides to have knocked the Valiants out of the competition. The two sides sit fifth and sixth respectively in the Conference.

The first round ties will be played Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November.

Think positive. The reigning Conference champions are Fleetwood Town, and they didn't enjoy Vale's visit too much.
