Ex Vale Defender On The Move

Ex Vale Defender On The Move

The former Vale defender Lee Collins has joined up with former boss Graham Turner, signing on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town for a month. Collins left the Potteries following Vale`s slide into administration last season, eventually signing a permanent deal at Championship side Barnsley for a fee believed to be around £50,000. The 24 year old was made nearly 150 appearances during his four years with the club. However, the versatile defender has found it difficult to break into Keith Hill`s side since his move north. The move to Shrewsbury sees him once more link up with Turner, who signed him from on loan for Hereford United from Wolves during his spell in charge. Turner commented: "He's a versatile player and a very good defender. He can play left-back and anywhere across the back and, although he's better defending than going forward, he's solid, dependable and a good pro."
