Griffith Signs For Orient

Micky Adams` task of rebuilding his squad this summer became more difficult after Anthony Griffith opted to turn down a new contract at the Vale and sign for League One side Leyton Orient. The 25 year old has agreed a two-year deal at the London club, in what he described as purely a 'footballing decision`. Griffith has been a key member of the Vale side over the last four seasons following his move from Doncaster Rovers. His industrious and committed performances earned the popular ball winner the player of the year award for the 2009-10 campaign, while he went on to make his International debut for Montserrat during his spell with the club. Speaking to The Sentinel Griffith thanked the Vale faithful for their support. 'I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Vale, so leaving was a big decision.

'It is a good club, with a good heart, and the fans have been fantastic. But this is a chance to play in a higher league and it was a chance I couldn't turn down.

'I am ambitious and this is an opportunity to test myself at a better level and play on a bigger stage.'
